Mable Overcoming Mast Cell Tumors

Marble
My boston terrier has had a history of mast cell tumors (MCT). The first appeared in 2003, deep under her armpit up against her ribcage. With prednisone and benedryl, we were able to shrink it enough to remove the tumor yet keep the ribcage intact. A year later, another exterior MCT appeared on her leg. It was removed immediately without any medication. In April of 2005, I found a pimple like bump on her right flank which tested positive for MCT. Surgery was performed right away to remove it. Within a week, another appeared on her left flank. Another surgery.

Another week went by and I found a lump on her chest and a pimple on her belly. Both tested positive for MCT. I was out of town working in New York City at the time of these occurrences and the vet in NY told me that I need to stop the surgeries and put Mable on Chemo and do what I can for her until her "demise". Fortunately my husband came out to visit me and took Mable home to San Francisco to see her regular vet and vet oncologist. The oncologist told me to put her back on benedryl and remove the two new MCT's immediately before they became systemic.

At that point, I started doing some research for alternative ways to prevent this. I came across Mr. McDowell's website with his herbal treatments for MCT. He also recommended the Pine Bark Extract. I also read about the quality of commercial pet foods. I had always fed Mable the best but started to wonder about the grains and fillers even in the best dog foods.

Well, knock on wood, but a year later with a combination of benedryl, pepcid, Mr. McDowell's herbal remedies and a diet of raw food, Mable has not had another episode of MCT. The doctor in NYC told me because one of the tumors tested Stage 2, it was inevitable she would succumb to this disease within a year. She has had some other lumps in the past year, but they all tested fatty.

I think Mr. McDowell's herbs have certainly played a huge part in keeping the disease at bay along with the raw diet. She has lost weight, her coat is silky and shiny, her energy is like a puppy's.
