Preventing Canine Cancer

Dogs are getting more and more cancers and nearly have as many varieties as humans nowadays and it is mostly that we have subverted their lifestyles, companionship, diet and exercise patterns almost as much as we have diverted our own. 20 years ago, in Australia, they got the odd bone cancer and that was really all.

A dog is herd animal and a member of a pack, we keep them mostly on their own. A dog is meant to eat raw , or rotten meat, and bones and to eat only once a day or less and we feed them too much, nothing raw and often no bones at all which are not even available nowadays in the USA. We keep then locked up and they should be free to run about themselves and we often give them structured exercise as they don’t get to run freely mostly at all.

We treat cancers with surgery which mostly not effective long term and chemo and radio therapy which is debilitating and of little benefit.

Canine cancer re-occurrence, which is very common, is really because we do nothing to build up their own immune system to cope with random cell which are more common than normal in their systems because of feeding, medical and exercise practices.
